For a very long time I didn’t put much more than a lip balm into my carry-on luggage. Only very recently, when I started flying more frequently I realised that my skin needed extra attention during flights.
In Hong Kong (where I am currently living) humidity reaches easily over 90% on some days. Humid climate helps skin to retain moisture, so whenever I hop on a plane it feels like taking a trip to the desert. Did you know that humidity on a plane can get as low as 1 – 10%. No wonder my skin, lips and eyes are always completely dehydrated and irritated after my plane travels. I sometimes feel I have aged five years judging by the dark circles under my eyes and my dull and tired-looking skin.
