On my recent trip to Portugal, I fell in love with Lisbon. You find some tips on what to do, see and where to eat in my “Quick Guide to Lisbon”. I loved Lisbon not only for it’s amazing food scene, hipster vibes (yes, it’s Europe’s new hipster capital) and beautiful architecture. I loved it because we were so lucky with our hotel in Lisbon too. I’ve had trips where the destination itself was wonderful but because the accommodation was crap (sorry for the bad language) and I couldn’t get my proper beauty sleep, I didn’t enjoy my holidays as much. Not in Lisbon. Our boutique hotel was heaven, a great place to come back to after a long day exploring the city.

Boutique Hotel in Lisbon: Lapa 82 Review
In my opinion, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And often, it is the only hour of the day when things are not yet busy and overwhelming but quiet and calm. At home I take a moment each morning to make myself a nourishing bowl of something, drink a warm tea and think of the day ahead. I like to transfer that ritual to my holidays.
At Lapa 82 I could just do that, with one big difference. I didn’t need to make the food but it was served to our table. Creamy scrambled eggs, fresh fruits, warm croissants, buttery pancakes, hot coffee or tea and much more. Most of the breakfast items were homemade and freshly prepared in the hotel’s small kitchen. Served outside in a little courtyard with a purling fountain. And far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Each hotel room of Lapa 82 is beautifully decorated. All rooms come in different sizes and colors but each furnished with attention to detail. We stayed at Xavier, a bright and mostly black and white room (obvisouly a perfect “name” match) on the first floor. Facing the street and an iconic view of one of Lisbon’s hilly streets, I could have spend hours on the small balcony watching the traditional tram passing by every now and then. All rooms come with heating and air condition, a modern bathroom and super comfortable pillows (a huge plus point of you ask me).
A boutique hotel beyond comparison, Lapa 82 welcomes its guests in a friendly atmosphere. The hotel staff always has a smile on their faces and makes you feel like home. The honesty bar in the lobby room plays a part in contributing to the welcoming atmosphere. The common area is a lobby at day and a living space at night. It invites guests to chill on one of its sofas, read a book or magazine and play chess. Following the theme of the guest room, the lobby aka living room is stylish and a treasure for every design fan.
Just 20 min walking distance from the city center, Lapa 82 is located in the quite and peaceful (read not touristy and crowded) neighborhood Lapa. We walked to and from the city center and other parts of Lisbon most of the times. At other times we took an Über which never costs us more than 3-5 EUR per trip. The hotel also provides a great lists of restaurants nearby. Just in case you don’t want to make your way to the centre again in the evening.
Downside: Although the breakfast was amazing I would have wished for fresh juice and higher-quality jam. But that’s nothing major and didn’t spoil our stay as this beautiful hotel in Lisbon.
