On active weeks like this one I need all the energy boosting foods I can get and this Matcha Raw Granola is fantastic to kick off each new day. I absolutely hate to say this (and I also don’t like when others do it) but I’ve been super busy lately…I don’t like the word busy. So let’s rephrase it. Life is happening a lot. I had a friend from Germany visiting and we wandered every little corner of Istanbul until we got flat feet. Before that I was sick for a few days which slowed me down and I couldn’t get things done as I had planned. I’m now trying to catch up. So I guess this is what makes me feel like I’m busy.
But whenever I feel like my days don’t have enough hours and my to-do list increases by the minute, I know I’m doing something wrong. The Huffington Post rightly stated in an article last year, “Busy Is a Sickness“. Because if we are really honest with ourselves, it’s a never ending story. It will never stop. We’ll be busy until the end of our lives if that’s what we want. And it makes people sick.
So let’s just all take a deep breath. Let’s disconnect from the expectation that tell us to work out 5 times a week, eat healthy, make all meals from scratch, throw dinner parties on the weekend, have time to read a book once a week and still work full-time. Let’s just concentrate on one thing. How about Matcha Raw Granola?
Let’s imagine it’s Monday morning (no really, Monday mornings can be good, maybe even awesome). The sun shines through the kitchen window and we are enjoying a cup of tea. There is a strawberry coconut smoothie bowl sitting on the table. It’s topped with fresh juicy strawberries and frozen raspberries from last season. We reach for a jar filled with Matcha Raw Granola and sprinkle some on the smoothie. Now, you can take a bite and let’s all agree that Monday mornings are not bad at all.
The granola is clumpy and super chewy, lightly sweetened with dates combined with the rich and healthful flavour of Matcha tea and filled with little bits of crunchy nuts and oats. This is my superfood breakfast. I hope you like it too.
Happy weekend, all! x Kati
